Demokratie Wegweiser
The Demokratie Wegweiser (Democracy Guide) is a digital information portal that helps citizens to find access to political decision-makers, parties, and local political initiatives. The platform aims to increase transparency in political processes and strengthen communication between citizens and politics.
Our original task was to further develop the existing website technologically and functionally in order to create a stable, scalable, and modern platform that meets the increasing demands of citizens, politicians, and municipalities. The central requirements included:
Backend maintenance: Building a powerful backend that allows politicians and factions to independently and easily maintain their profiles and content.
Scalability and future viability: Ensuring that the platform is prepared for future expansions and integrations, especially with regard to municipal applications.
In the further course, we completely relaunched the Demokratie Wegweiser including redesign and technical infrastructure renewal.
Complete technical relaunch:
The existing platform was completely redeveloped from scratch. The backend is now based entirely on NestJS, which enables a clean modular architecture, excellent testability, and high performance.
The frontend was implemented with Astro, providing extremely fast loading times, a component-based design system, and optimal SEO performance.
Maintenance backend for politicians and municipalities:
The management of politician and faction data has been expanded: The backend is now structured in a way that additional content can be maintained – including a clear role and rights structure to ensure data security and currency.
