80s80s

Pick up the remote, put Depeche Mode on the TV: with the Smart TV apps we built for 80s80s, the 80s play right on the big screen in the living room. More than 30 genre streams around the clock, free and without registration.

80s80s is digital radio for everyone who can't get enough of the 80s: pop, rock and new wave, funk, soul, disco and NDW, plus streams dedicated to a single artist or genre, such as Depeche Mode, Prince or Romantic Rock. All of it was already available on the go and at home. Now it was time for the TV.

We developed apps for Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Tizen and LG webOS, and now also for Vega OS, the new operating system on the current Fire TV Sticks. They share one technical foundation and are tuned for each platform. The current song appears on screen in real time via WebSocket, and every stream is just a few clicks away on the remote.

The apps' layout and content come from the 80s80s API. That lets the team adjust design, content and features centrally for all platforms instead of touching each app separately. A new summer party section or a new artist stream shows up on every TV in no time.

The Smart TV app for 90s90s has since been built on the same foundation.
